The NBA Finals and the NBA Draft … two pretty big topics to talk about today. And that’s what Beckley, Ethan and Zach did. With each other, then with guests Kevin Arnovitz of ESPN.com, Tom Haberstroh of ESPN.com and Jonathan Givony of Draft Express.
Things to note: 1) Tom did the interview while taking a break from an epic media pickup game in OKC. 2) There were a few technical difficulties including Kevin dropping out because of a poor connection and for this, we apologize. 3) Zach didn’t abandon the show before the segment with Jonathan; he lost power because of a thunderstorm.
Here’s the full show:
Here’s how it breaks down:
:00 – :13 - Intro + Finals Talk [Ethan thinks the Heat have done a good job. They've had good effort.]
:13 – :20 – Take The Bacon [Ethan vs. Zach on Russell Westbrook vs. James Harden]
:20 – :32 - Person of Interest: Kevin Arnovitz [Kevin's Thabo Sefolosha bandwagon is getting mighty full.]
:32 -:53 – Person of Interest: Tom Haberstroh ["We just schooled Brent Barry, Henry Abbott and Ric Bucher's team."]
:53 -1:08 – Person of Interest: Jonathan Givony [On Drummond, Barnes, Beal, etc.]
1:08 – 1:10 – Dagger/Smash/Noted [Ethan daggers, smashes and notes!]
Note: You can find the audio-only version of HoopSpeak Live on iTunes. If you subscribe and/or write us a review, I promise that Zach will give you tips on how to style your hair.

This was a big show. For one, we had Chris Ballard on the show. If you haven’t read his book, The Art Of A Beautiful Game, then you are a BAD BASKETBALL FAN. But we’ll forgive you for that. Just read it as soon as you can. Anyway, Chris joined the show to discuss his recent features on Tim Duncan and Kobe and Jellybean Bryant as well as his new book, One Shot At Forever. But that’s not all! To talk about the Sixers/Celtics series, we welcomed back Tom Sunnergren of Philadunkia. And for Pacers/Heat, we brought on HSL mainstay Tom Haberstroh of The Heat Index and Jared Wade of Eight Points, Nine Seconds, who made his first and definitely not last appearance on the show.
Here is the show in a a handy YouTube playlist:
Here are the individual clips:
:00 – :12 – Intro + Lakers/Heat talk [Part 1, Part 2 - Turns out it's important to have more than three good players.]
:12 – :21 – Audience Questions [Ethan would not love a Spurs/Pacers Finals.]
:21 -: 30 – Person of Interest: Tom Sunnergren [Tom can't handle the Jruth. Or he doesn't think the Jruth is that great. One of the two.]
:30 – :45 – Persons of Interest: Jared Wade & Tom Haberstroh [Part 1, Part 2 - Could the Pacers beat the Heat? MAYBE!]
:45 – 1:11 – Person of Interest: Chris Ballard [Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4 - Duncan, Pop, Stack Jack, Kobe, etc.]
1:11 – 1:16 – Dagger/Smash/Noted [SWAG! Wait, I take that back.]
Note: You can find the audio-only version of HoopSpeak Live on iTunes. If you subscribe and/or write us a review, I promise that you will have all of the Eagle Dollars.
